Photo credit: Nancy Ruf See the Rondy 2006 Scrapbook The course is on Bridger-Teton National Forest, partly riding on the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail on the road to Green River Lakes. Thanks to the generous support of BP America, there was an $8,600 guaranteed purse for the 2006 Rondy.
Fun facts about the race • The race honors the local heritage of Sublette County by displaying livestock brands on the mushers' race bibs. In any other race the musher is just a number. • The parking lot (start/finish line) is at 7,700 ft. altitude • The NEW and IMPROVED 12 dog loop course goes up and over Moose Mountain, climbing to 9,009 ft. before descending into the Green River valley and the final stretch toward the finish line. • The 6 dog class will be run with dual starts in the future just like the cutter races of old. • The 12 dog course runs directly past Kendall Warm Springs, which harbors the endangered population of tiny dace fish. It is the only place in the world where these fish live. They are about the size of a quarter.
